Hello Friends, This post is really just a tidbit of what God has been doing in my heart the past few days! A more traditional post will follow later, but for now, I've entitled this post after a famous bible verse, "Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart" Psalm 37:4. This verse is so rich! So many people misunderstand the intention of God's heart that is revealed here. His desire is that our delight and our foremost ambition and goal would be to pursue him, find rest in Him, find joy and delight in his presence, and be excited for whatever he grants to us. If our hearts are so full of Him, then what we receive from Him will bless us! If our desires are entirely consumed with Him, then what we truly desire will be exactly what he desires for us! I invite you to enjoy these lyrics from a song by Caedmon's Call, called "We Delight"
We delight in the law of Your Word
We delight in the Son who was perfect from birth
We delight in the day He's returning to earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah
We will bow our hearts because we are free
As we raise our hands to give You glory
Father of life and love and infinite worth
We're delivered by blood that flows from the tree
Draw us near to You, vessels of Your mercy
Before the invention of man... the glorious trinity
We delight in the law of Your Word
We delight in the Son who was perfect from birth
We delight in the day He's returning to earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah
We will lift our eyes to the clouds and the flame
Lord, You guide our steps and restore us again
The nations of man will rejoice in the God of the wilderness
We delight in the law of Your Word
We delight in the Son who was perfect from birth
We delight in the day He's returning to earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Take a moment today to stop and find delight in the LORD! How good is He! How loving and truthful and kind. Psalm 86 says, "Lovingkindness and truth have met together........righteousness will go before Him and will make His footsteps into a way." (vv. 10 and 13).
Be blessed today by rejoicing in His presence and finding delight in who He is and whose you are!
