"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD. For he will be like a tree planted by the stream and will not fear when the heat comes but its leaves will be green and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

Abigail's Nursery

Ah….38 weeks pregnant J We just had a doctor’s appointment today and discovered that I am 60 % effaced and 1 cm dilated. Can’t believe it! The doc said he thinks she’ll come sometime within the week….can’t believe how quickly the time seems to have come! We’re SOO very ready to have her here – ready to see her little face and be able to hold her J

As for her nursery….here is the promised blog post about that whole process! As a bit of slight history – we waited to begin any nursery preparations until a little later in the pregnancy than most do….just because we were anticipating moving out of our two bedroom, third – story apartment and into a rental house across town. Before we were able to move in, we painted the entire interior of the house. This was a part of our rental agreement, and it was a plus to be able to personalize with paint colors, but it was an INCREDIBLE amount of work. I wasn’t able to be involved in any of the actual painting – so I contributed through lots of prayer for my wonderful husband, my gracious mom, and our kind and loving Life Group from church. Between all those hands, we got the job done. Abigail’s room was a completely different and extended adventure that Michael got to enjoy all by himself J Her room was covered in the ugliest of wall paper. We tried priming over it with a special primer in order to paint, but the primer started to bubble meaning the paper had to come off before we could begin the paint job. So, Michael removed all the wallpaper almost completely by himself, then primed the walls, then painted, then painted the trim. Her sweet little room is such an example of his love for his little girl! He was so wonderful to work so hard!!

We moved the last weekend in January – which was quite the endeavor considering my 8 months of pregnancy….and then began the process of hastily getting her nursery prepared. God has been so gracious and Michael did a wonderful job of assembling all her nursery furniture JSeveral pieces of her furniture we ended up spray painting a pretty soft cream, and again….her daddy was so selfless and loving to do all of that so well!!

We've put together a slideshow of pictures to show the whole experience of preparing her nursery! We hope you enjoy getting to see the journey ~ we were so blessed to enjoy the whole process! Once Abigail arrives we'll do our best to get pictures posted as quickly as possible!

Thanks for all your prayers and love. We appreciate them and are so blessed by them.

May you keep yourselves in the love of the LORD!
Michael, Katie, and Baby Abigail :)
